![]() ![]() Then he wanted to go find more, and we walked down 30th Ave. Holy crap!!! I didn’t know if I should laugh, or cry. But tonight he was happy to change things up and do it! We were in shock! And when he got there, other kids ran up to him to hunt for Pokémon together. ![]() He is normally SO RIGID about his routine. He NEVER wants to go to the playground at night, because it’s out of his usual routine. Then she came out and he chatted with her about it, too! Then she pointed out to him that there was a lot of Pokémon activity at the playground. He caught that one and was so excited he shrieked again and began to jump up and down. Then the little boy showed him how many HE had caught (over 100!) and Ralph said 'WO"Then he saw his second Pokémon, sitting on ’s front step. Ralph didn’t really answer him, other than to shriek 'POKEMON!!!' and jump up and down with excitement while flapping his arms. They immediately had something in common. A little boy saw him and recognized what he was doing. After he caught his first one at the bakery, he was shrieking with excitement. "Thanks to the suggestion of my fellow-ASD-mama friend and fellow body painter I finally introduced Ralphie to "Pokémon GO" tonight. " He hasn't expressed interest in anything for a few months, so this is just amazing!" - Puff-n-Stuff "He caught a few Rattata ('Ratty!') and a Weedle ('Wrrrm!'). "Not soon after, he is quietly yet excitedly prowling around the day-room and hallways of the group home, hunting down anything that pops up on the screen with the help of an incense I activated for him. "He soon sees the all-too-familiar Pokéball symbol that opens the PoGo app. He's a quiet and sweet young man who only says a few garbled words as his form of communication, other than that he is quite mobile and capable. "Later on after everyone but one client (we say 'clients,' not 'patients') is in bed, he starts playing with one of our phones. Yesterday, a co-worker and myself were talking about PoGo and how she found a Squirtle in her salad before she came to work. "I'm a caregiver to those with mental and/or physical handicaps.
